Why Skint Gains exists
I’m Connor. I lift, I cook, and I’m skint — like a lot of people who train. The fitness internet is full of meal prep content, but it always skips the bit that matters: what does it actually cost, and that includes the supplements.
Every “budget meal prep” blog I found either ignored supplements entirely or treated them as an afterthought. But if you’re spending £30 a month on protein powder, £15 on creatine, and £20 on pre-workout, that’s £65 a month that belongs in your weekly food budget — not in a separate “who cares” column. That’s the gap Skint Gains fills.
The deal
- Every shop is real. I cook what I post. The receipts are mine. The photos are from my phone, not a DSLR studio.
- Supplements are costed in. Protein powder, creatine, pre-workout — it’s all in the weekly total. No hidden costs.
- Macros are honest. Not cherry-picked to look good. If a meal is light on protein, I’ll say so and tell you how to fix it.
- No sponsored fluff. If I recommend a supplement, it’s because I use it and it’s worth the money. Affiliate links are clearly marked.
What you’ll find here

- Recipes — individual high-protein meals with per-serving costs and macro breakdowns.
- Supplement Saturday — honest supplement guides. What works, what’s worth it, what’s marketing garbage.
